MFM Vendor: First step to set up to sell online with LFM

Hello food and farm vendors,

This is the first step to sell through online ordering platform Local Food Marketplace. The only thing I'm asking you to do is the Vendor Sign Up. The remainder of the email below is for your information.

Vendor Sign Up:

Follow these instructions:

  1. Go to this web address:

  2. Click on "Sign Up!" at the top of the page

  • It will appear that it is prompting you to sign up as a customer. Go ahead. There's a strategy to this.

  • You will be prompted to enter your email and create a password.

3. Fill in your basic contact information for your business.

  • At the top of the page is a grey box with a drop down menu where you can choose the "Producer" option.

  • Click the "Register" button at the bottom of the page.

That's it. Stop there. Your profile and products will be a separate step.

Next Steps

I'm still figuring out the Local Food Marketplace (LFM) platform so thank you for your patience. I'll be prompting you with next steps soon.

Tentative Timeline

Here's what we're aiming for. We'll do what we can and adjust as needed.

  • Vendors set up to sell in LFM by end of day Friday May 1

  • including your business profile, and products you want to list for sale for May 9 ...instructions coming soon.

  • Customers shopping starting Saturday May 2

  • customers browse products listed and place an order in their virtual cart online and they can add to or modify their purchase up until the customer order deadline.

  • Customer order deadline is Thursday May 7

  • customer ordering will close just before midnight

  • Vendor receives order list / pick list Friday May 8

  • your order list arrives by email very early in the morning Friday (just after the close of the customer order deadline)

  • Vendor brings orders to Manzanita city parking lot May 9

  • Vendor receives payment for their product sold as a check in the mail shortly after May 9

  • Vendor receives one check for the sum of all orders made for May 9. MFM will send these out using the online bill pay function that allows us to have the bank cut a check and mail it to you. We will be able to initiate these on Friday May 8, though I'm not sure exactly when US Bank mails them out, hopefully Monday May 11.

Let me know and I'll be glad to take all into consideration and modify as needed. We want this to work for you.

Help or questions?

At any time in this process, if you'd like help immediately, text or call me at the Manzanita Farmers Market's phone number 503-836-3534. Feel free to reach out at any time and I'll get back to you as promptly as I can, including mornings and evenings.

For less urgent items, email is a great way to reach me. I'm here to help any way I can and I have a lot of options for ways to help via admin access from the back end in LFM.

THANK YOU for giving this a try!

I think it will be worth it.
