Always Something New at the Market

Baird Family Orchards will be bringing the best-of-the-best stone fruits to the market. This week Chris will have their “Royal Brooks” cherry variety — and according to Chris, “Most people’s eyes bug out when they see how large this fruit is. And then when they taste it, they smile.” You’ll find Baird’s booth at the 5th St. entrance to the market, under the orange umbrella.

CS Fishery — Direct from the Boat Seafood

FRESH local seafood from CS Fishery’s local boats at the market. Today (Thursday 6/25) was the one-day commercial halibut season, and (fingers-crossed) CS Fishery should have fresh halibut at the market. Along with fresh Pacific bay shrimp, crab, salmon and other right-from-the-ocean seafoods. Oh, oysters shooters served up or barbecued oysters as well. With some goat cheese, and wine … yes, good things at the market.

Music, Local Nonprofits & Face Painting

Two Crows Joy will be the musical entertainment this week.

Master Gardeners will join us — bring your plant questions. It’s an unusual growing season and which means different problems from local gardeners.

The Manzanita Fireworks group will be in the market selling commemorative tees and hoodies and a limited quantity of the 2015 4th of July poster. This all-volunteer group is fundraising to support the professional fireworks display on Manzanita Beach. Donations needed! Go to their website to make a donation — manzanitafireworks.com or stop by the market. Volunteers needed, too!

Garibaldi Grade School kids, fundraising for their Washington DC trip will bring their delicious products to the market. Stop by their booths to learn more about their great offerings.

The kids face painting was relocated under the big tree … and look for our “Budding Businesses” — local kid artisans and entrepreneurs selling items they made or grown.

The Manzanita Farmers Market is the place to be from 5 to 8 pm on Friday evenings.
